Job Title: Part-Time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Primary School Location: Slough, Berkshire Contract Type: Part-Time | Term-Time Only Start Date: September 2025 Salary: TBC About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time HLTA to join our welcoming and inclusive primary school in Slough. We are looking for a proactive and experienced individual to support teaching and learning across the school, working closely with staff and pupils to help every child thrive. This role is ideal for someone with strong classroom experience, confident in leading lessons and small group interventions, who is seeking a flexible, part-time position during term time. Key Responsibilities Lead whole-class lessons in the absence of the class teacher (planned cover) Provide targeted group or 1:1 support, including for pupils with SEND or EAL Assist in planning, preparing, and assessing learning activities Foster a positive and engaging learning environment Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff What We’re Looking For HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience Previous experience in a primary school setting Good knowledge of the UK primary curriculum Strong communication and behaviour management skills Reliable, flexible, and committed to supporting pupil progress Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
