Position Overview
Public Health Wales Microbiology operates as a network of laboratories across Wales. The successful candidate will work at Singleton Hospital, performing routine screening, diagnostic infectious serology, and molecular diagnostics. Candidates with proven microbiology laboratory experience, work-based education, and competency, or science graduates are encouraged to apply. The role offers rotation through various sections, gaining experience in molecular science and microbiological testing.
The laboratory is IBMS approved and ISO 15189 accredited, requiring understanding of good laboratory practices and quality management. The post involves participation in unsocial hours to support a 24/7 service.
