Business Support Officer
Location: Lancashire (County Hall, Preston)
Salary: £28,142 - £32,061 per annum, permanent, full‑time (37 hours per week), pro rata. This is a permanent, full‑time position within the Adult Services Support Services Team.
We need a Business Support Officer with empathy and the drive to make a difference by finding creative ways to support people to achieve what they want to and live independently.
This role supports Senior Service Managers in Adults, Health and Wellbeing by:
* Managing the inbox for the senior service managers, ensuring emails are actioned, deadlines are met and managed effectively
* Managing the diary and meeting schedule, ensuring senior managers are forewarned of approaching deadlines, upcoming events and issues affecting schedules
* Providing administrative support for meetings, including arranging dates, room bookings, preparation of agenda, distribution of papers and taking minutes using available technology
* Ensuring reports are maintained and kept up to date to meet key deadlines
* Organising attendance at training, conferences, travel arrangements in the UK, and accommodation when required for the senior managers and their respective teams
* Typing letters, preparing presentations and spreadsheets, tracking correspondence and monitoring response times, producing dashboards, chasing team members for information and keeping the Senior Service Manager informed of progress
* Assisting with the collection and collation of statistics, data, financial information or other management information
* Responding to and resolving telephone, face‑to‑face, e‑mail and postal enquiries generated by the service
* Performing ad‑hoc tasks as required by the senior managers or the post holder's line manager
* Using professional judgement and critical thinking in the decision‑making process
