Project Manager

Salary: £50,000 per annum
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager to take full ownership of complex, high-value manufacturing contracts involving bespoke engineered products. This is a critical role within our operations team, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical and quality standards.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in multidisciplinary engineering or manufacturing environments
You’ll act as the key point of contact across internal departments, suppliers, and clients, managing each project from order through to final delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Take full responsibility for the end-to-end management of assigned manufacturing projects
Lead and manage project planning, including milestones, timelines, deliverables, and critical path identification
Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Production, and Quality teams to ensure seamless project execution
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, sub-vendors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring open communication and timely issue resolution
Manage technical clarifications, change control, risk assessments, and project documentation
Oversee project procurement, including coordination with the Project Buyer to ensure timely sourcing of materials and services
Monitor and report on project progress, budget adherence, and potential risks or delays—internally and to clients
Organise and attend client meetings both onsite and offsite, as required
Manage and coordinate inspection, testing, and certification of products in collaboration with relevant departments Required:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing complex, multidisciplinary engineering/manufacturing projects
Proven ability to manage the full project lifecycle from order placement through to delivery
Excellent communication skills and confidence liaising with clients, engineers, suppliers, and shop floor teams
Proficient in project planning, risk management, cost control, and documentation
Strong understanding of quality assurance and certification processes
Availability and willingness to attend both on-site and off-site client meetings Desirable:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional experience
Experience with technical bid evaluations
Familiarity with the following software (training can be provided):
Microsoft Dynamics AX
Ceaser II, STAAD, Creo (ProE), AutoCAD
