Keeler Recruitment is supporting a well-established, growing business in the construction supply sector with the appointment of a General Manager / Finance Director. This is a confidential search for a senior leadership role within a multi-site, operationally complex organisation.
This position offers the opportunity to take full responsibility for performance across a large-scale industrial manufacturing operation, combining operational leadership with full ownership of the finance function.
The Opportunity
The General Manager / Finance Director will act as the key operational and financial leader within the business, ensuring alignment between production, commercial activity, and overall strategic direction. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will drive execution, improve efficiency, and maintain a strong focus on profitability, cash flow, and sustainable growth.
The role is primarily based at the main site in Brandon, Suffolk, with a regular weekly presence required at a second site in Lincolnshire.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a visible presence across sites and the ability to build credibility within a factory-based manufacturing environment, alongside leading financial discipline and control.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day operations across multiple manufacturing sites
* Take full accountability for P&L performance, including margin improvement, cost control, and cash management
* Oversee and lead the finance function, ensuring robust reporting, forecasting, and financial governance
* Act as the senior financial lead for the business, partnering with stakeholders on performance, investment, and strategic decision-making
* Embed financial insight into operational and commercial activity, ensuring decisions are data-led
* Drive performance, accountability, and operational discipline across all functions
* Strengthen systems, processes, and reporting frameworks to support scalable growth
* Develop leadership capability and foster a high-performance, delivery-focused culture
About You
* Proven experience in a senior leadership role within industrial or factory-based manufacturing
* Strong track record of P&L ownership and financial leadership, ideally with oversight of a finance team
* Comfortable operating as both a General Manager and Finance Director, balancing operational delivery with financial control
* Willing and able to travel weekly to a second site in Lincolnshire
* Commercially astute, with a clear understanding of how operational drivers translate into financial performance
* Hands-on, visible leader who can engage effectively across all levels of the organisation
* Experience within multi-site or operationally complex environments
* A proactive, delivery-focused approach with the ability to drive pace, accountability, and change
