Fire Protection Engineer Role
As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will provide specialist engineering advice and interpret customer requirements for passive fire protection to produce estimates of FIRETEX product and specification requirements.
You will excel in effective communication, offering advice and estimates to customers, sales teams, and project tracking to assist "Team Sherwin" in converting estimates to orders. You will build a reputation for service excellence, generating additional enquiries globally.
This role is office-based but can consider remote working.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the global sales team by estimating paint thickness and quantity required for fire protection of steel buildings.
* Coordinate with the technical services team to understand specifications and select appropriate products.
* Learn to use software such as FDE, AutoCAD, Planswift, and Tekla.
* Utilize Excel for project management.
* Gain knowledge of steel structures, Cellulosic & Hydrocarbon Fire, and Fire Engineering.
Experience & Qualifications:
2-3 years of experience in industries such as steel fabrication, steel drawings, steel erection, steel design & fabrication, MEP engineering, architecture, passive fire protection, or intumescent coatings.
Preferred candidates include those with experience as Site Engineers, Steel Designers, Engineering Design, R&D, Quantity Surveyors, or Steel Drawing Checkers.
Experience with CAD, Tekla, PDS/PSMS, Microsoft Office, or 3D BIM is desirable.
Must be able to read and interpret structural engineering and architectural drawings, with a broad understanding of structural steelwork and engineering principles.
Skills & Attributes:
* Confident in client communication via phone or email to gather technical information.
* Ability to advise on engineering solutions, including fire-engineered solutions (training provided).
* Proficiency in AutoCAD is desirable.
* Ability to quantify steelwork materials in a structured format is a plus.
* Good communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Additional Knowledge:
Basic paint technology knowledge related to FIRETEX products and passive fire protection principles is desirable.
