Role overview
Progress your engineering career in a key role within Allianz Engineering Inspection Services. Our Engineer Surveyors visit client sites to carry out inspections and assess a wide range of plant, equipment, and installations. Newly recruited Engineer Surveyors are enrolled onto our unrivalled induction training programme.
The role is suitable for an experienced engineer with a good knowledge of the Lift and Crane discipline.
This position involves hands-on inspection work and travel to client sites.
Responsibilities
* Anticipate client needs and help ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
* Collaborate with your Engineer Surveyor Team managed by a Senior Operations Team Leader.
* Prepare examination reports following inspections using electronic reporting for fast and efficient delivery to clients.
* Carry out hands-on inspections of plant and equipment such as lifts, material handling equipment, cranes, and construction plant.
* Maintain an awareness of the physical demands of the role, including working at height, in confined spaces, lifting, and working in hot or cold conditions; exposure to noise and dust is expected in a hands-on environment.
Salary information
Starting salary £44,213 plus company car and more as part of a total reward package.
About you
As an Engineer Surveyor, you will assess installations and help clients comply with relevant legislation.
* Up-to-date knowledge of compliance and regulatory rules for the Lift and Crane discipline.
* Capable of making informed decisions and taking responsibility; effective short-, medium-, and long-term planning.
* Ability to travel within your local area; strong administration and documentation skills.
* Willingness to support and deputise for fellow Engineer Surveyors as required.
* Passionate about engineering, self-driven, and able to interact with clients daily.
* Experience with lifts, cranes, materials handling equipment; hands-on experience in manufacturing/repair/maintenance roles.
* Strong customer interaction skills, including good oral and written communication.
Essential skills
* NVQ Level 3 or above in a mechanical-related subject.
* Full valid UK driving licence.
* Time management skills and ability to self-organise weekly work.
* Comfort with tablets and smartphones as part of daily work.
