Summary
At Thera East Midlands, we believe people with a learning disability should be leaders in society. We are looking for a Deputy Support Manager to assist the Support Manager in leading teams and delivering person-centered support that meets regulatory, contractual, and organisational requirements. You will mentor teams, coach support staff, and drive continuous improvement. You will deputise for the Support Manager when needed and work on shift as part of the rota, acting as a role model of best practice. You will help design support plans, assist with rota management, maintain records, address concerns, conduct audits, and promote empowerment, inclusion, rights and independence while adhering to policies and representing the company.
Responsibilities
* Mentor teams, coach support staff and drive continuous improvement.
* Ensure practice leadership is developed, recognised and reflected in all work.
* Work on shift as part of the rota and deputise for the Support Manager when needed.
* Support people to design their support plans, assist with rota management and maintain records.
* Address concerns, conduct audits and promote empowerment, inclusion, rights & independence.
* Adhere to policies and act as an ambassador for the company.
Qualifications & Skills
* Relevant Health and Social Care qualification at Level 3 or above (England) or SCQF 7 or above (Scotland).
* Proven experience supporting people with learning disabilities.
* Leadership or coaching experience is desirable.
* Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and care regulations.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
* Confidence in using digital systems (e.g. Excel, care planning software).
* Flexible working hours, willingness to travel locally and work across multiple locations.
