Job Title: Payroll Administrator (Part-Time, 2 days per week)

Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team on a part-time basis (2 days per week). You will coordinate payroll data for our mix of salaried, hourly, and piece-rate employees, liaise with our external payroll bureau, and be the first point of contact for payroll-related queries. A key part of the role will be leading the transition from paper-based timesheets to a digital time and attendance system.
Key Responsibilities
* Collect, verify, and collate weekly timesheets (factory staff) and fit sheets (fitters)
* Maintain records of hours worked, piecework, holidays, and absences
* Prepare and submit accurate payroll data to our external payroll bureau for weekly and monthly runs
* Check payroll reports and payslips, resolving any discrepancies with the bureau
* Act as first point of contact for employee payroll queries
* Support the administration of pensions, benefits, and expenses where relevant
* Produce simple payroll-related reports (e.g. overtime, headcount, absence) for management
* Lead the defined project to move from paper-based time records to a digital system, working with management and any external consultants to implement and embed the new process
* Handle payroll data securely and confidentially at all times
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in payroll administration or a strong admin background with payroll exposure
* Good knowledge of PAYE, NI, and pensions Strong Excel and data accuracy skills
* Excellent communication skills for handling employee queries
* Comfortable with IT systems and motivated to support digital process change
* Organised, reliable, and able to meet deadlines consistently
