Senior Surveyor - Permanent | Full-time
Are you a surveying professional looking for your next exciting opportunity?
Our client is seeking an experienced and RICS-registered surveying professional to lead their front line asset team. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing a team of five surveyors, shaping the quality of stock data and ensuring residents receive a consistently high standard of service.
The Role
You will lead and develop a team of five asset surveyors, overseeing a rolling stock condition survey programme and maintaining high data quality to support long-term investment planning. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing building defects, scoping responsive repairs, and specifying remedial works.
You will conduct technical surveys for legal disrepair cases, carry out pre-, during-, and post-works inspections, and act as the technical point of contact for complaints and disrepair resolution. You will also monitor contractor performance and drive continuous improvement across the team.
The successful candidate will have
Full RICS membership (MRICS or FRICS)
A degree, HNC, or equivalent qualification in building surveying or a related discipline
Solid experience in residential surveying within social housing or a similar environment
A strong understanding of building pathology, construction methods, and defect diagnosis
Experience managing or supervising a technical team
Working knowledge of HHSRS, damp and mould legislation, fire safety, and building safety requirements
Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with residents, contractors, and colleagues
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable
Experience with asset management systems and stock condition data standards
Knowledge of procurement and contract administration
Please note: this role is subject to a Basic DBS check.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded, RICS-registered surveyor who enjoys leading people as much as solving building problems.
