An established engineering manufacturer is seeking an Experienced Design Engineer to join its in‑house engineering function. This is a hands‑on, technically focused role working on the design and development of heavy‑duty industrial machinery, supporting both new product development and continuous improvement of existing equipment.
Responsibilities
* You will play a key role within the design function, taking ownership of mechanical designs for industrial equipment and ensuring solutions are robust, manufacturable and compliant with relevant standards.
* Design and development of mechanical systems and components for heavy industrial machinery
* Creation of 3D CAD models and detailed manufacturing drawings
* Supporting new product development and evolution of existing designs
* Liaising with production, procurement and project teams to optimise design outcomes
* Participation in design reviews, risk assessments and validation activities
* Managing engineering documentation and design changes
* Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing
Criteria
* Background in Mechanical Engineering or similar
* Experience in a Design Engineering role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
* Competent using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor or equivalent)
* Good understanding of mechanical design, drawings, and manufacturing processes
* Practical, problem‑solving mindset with the ability to work collaboratively
