To be responsible for the 24-hour operation of the Short Breaks respite service, and for the operational delivery of a safe, caring, effective, person-centred service. To always observe best practice guidelines and lead with integrity, professionalism, and empathy, within agreed resource boundaries, to provide optimal standards of care and support for people with a learning disability, mental health difficulties and complex or challenging needs. To assist the Trust in achieving the organisation’s Visions and Values. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly within all the learning disabilities health services, as need arises.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide leadership to a 6-bedded short breaks service.
2. Responsible for relationship management, registration processes, and project management of delivering action plans to meet regulatory requirements of CQC.
3. Provide line management, including performance management, leading and motivating the team.
4. Ensure regular supervision, appraisal, personal development plans, and training needs are identified and met where possible.
5. Ensure effective communication.
6. Ensure systems & protocols for a safe & supportive service are in place, including Safeguarding protocols.
7. Ensure social inclusion is reflected in interventions offered and implemented.
8. Develop and implement strategies that promote user involvement.
9. Work with the Service Manager & Head of Social Care to set and monitor clear objectives.
10. Ensure compliance with statutory, financial, health & safety, and employment requirements, including mandatory training.
11. Deliver services within the budget, including achieving cost improvement plans where required.
12. Participate in the on-call rota.
