Salaried GP
Based at Staploe Medical Centre, Soham.
Basis: 4-8 sessions per week.
Salary: £11,700 – £14,200 per session (DOE).
Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the UK.
About the Practice
Mereside Medical operates three East Cambridgeshire practices serving around 45,000 patients. We focus on clinical excellence, technology‑enabled care, and collaborative learning. We host a large clinical research trials unit and are a Tier 2 Visa sponsor.
The Role
Working in accordance with the BMA model contract, you will undertake surgery and telephone consultations, issue prescriptions, handle patient paperwork, and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
Your Responsibilities
* Make professional, autonomous decisions regarding presenting problems, including self‑referrals and referrals from other providers.
* Assess healthcare needs for patients with undifferentiated or undiagnosed problems.
* Screen patients for disease factors and early signs, develop appropriate care plans.
* Record clear and contemporaneous notes in line with practice policy.
* Collect data for audit and comply with QOF requirements.
* Issue electronic prescriptions in accordance with practice prescribing formulary.
* Act as Duty Doctor and/or Triage/Allocator on a rota basis as per contracted weekly hours.
Qualifications
* An appropriate medical degree, completion of foundation training and membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP).
* GP speciality training, progressing towards or successfully attaining Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
* Registration with the UK General Medical Council (GMC) and inclusion on the NHS Performers List for England.
* We are licensed sponsors and welcome applications from candidates requiring Tier 2 sponsorship, provided they meet the GMC requirement.

Salary is based on session level:
* GP‑1 – 13 clinical contacts, £11.7k per session.
* GP‑2 – 15 clinical contacts, £13.0k per session.
* GP‑3 – 17 clinical contacts, £14.2k per session.
