Fire Servicing Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Fire Servicing Engineer to join our team at Iris Care Group’s estates department. This is a new role which will cover all fire alarm systems servicing requirements, emergency lighting, door access installation and on-going maintenance. This role will be instrumental in building the internal servicing team and will take the lead with the on-going servicing structure and routine maintenance.
Employing over 1,600 people, Iris Care Group is the largest independent health and social care provider across the South West of England and South Wales. We provide innovative, effective, and forward-thinking care for adults with specialist mental healthcare needs. The successful candidates will join our friendly estates department and will cover multiple services across England and South Wales (Cardiff, RCT, Newport, Gloucester, Wiltshire, Bristol) working in our service users’ homes.

Main duties of the role
15. Fire systems Service and maintain fire detection systems and equipment.Fire alarm systems – (Quarterly, Six monthly, Annual)Emergency lighting – (Quarterly, Six monthly, Annual)Fault finding, repairing, and testing fire alarm systems and emergency lightingServicing and maintaining fire panels.Smoke control AOV, systems and fire extinguishers.Management of servicing schedule to report into Fire Service Team LeadTo assist with management of remedial works generated by RA/internal reports.
Access Control
Performing PPM and reactive maintenance on current systems.Door entry installations.Troubleshooting and repairing electronic security systems.Working to industry best practices and local specifications.
Essential experience
16. Proven experience working on and servicing fire detection systems (minimum 2 years)
17. Abreast with current legislation across fire systems and servicing requirements
18. Proven experience of installation of door access systems and a good knowledge base.
19. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
20. Experience of prioritising complex and often-conflicting estates demands ensuring appropriate risk management approaches are used.
21. Good level of IT skills (Microsoft office, word, excel)
