The Opportunity
A forward-looking 11–18 academy in the Worcester area is looking to appoint an Art Teacher to join its creative faculty from January 2026. This full-time, permanent role is ideally suited to an Early Career Teacher who wants to develop in a supportive, ambitious environment. You’ll teach Art across Key Stages 3–5 (GCSE and A-Level), contributing to a curriculum that encourages visual thinking, experimentation, and personal growth.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from teachers who:
* Hold QTS, PGCE, or are completing their training this academic year
* Have strong subject knowledge in Art, and are confident teaching GCSE (and ideally A-Level)
* Can design lessons that combine technique, creativity, and critical reflection
* Use assessment and feedback to guide progression and support individual strengths
* Are collaborative, open to new ideas, and committed to contributing to a creative department
Experience running exhibitions, community art projects, or cross-media work (digital art, photography, sculpture) would be a plus, but enthusiasm and potential are key.
About the School
This mixed 11–18 academy serves approximately 1,100 students, with a capacity for about 1,250. It offers a small but thriving Sixth Form. The school was judged Good in its most recent Ofsted inspection, with Outstanding judgements for behaviour and attitudes, leadership & management, and sixth form provision.
Art and creativity feature strongly across the school’s ethos and curriculum. The academy offers a “Performing Arts and Creative” dimension within its curriculum, encouraging sixth-formers to pursue creative pathways.
The campus is modern and well maintained, having been substantially refurbished in recent years. It benefits from bright, well-equipped classrooms and dedicated spaces for creative arts. The school is part of a trust with shared resources and a culture of cross-school collaboration, meaning you can access networks beyond just this site.
Staff often comment on a strong sense of purpose, high expectations for students, and leadership that supports innovation and staff growth.
What’s on Offer
* A structured induction programme with mentor support tailored for ECTs
* Salary on the MPS scale, with clear progression into UPS and responsibility roles
* Access to high-quality CPD, coaching, and opportunities across the trust
* Modern departmental facilities, shared planning time, and well-resourced art studios
* A culture that values teacher voice, experimentation, and professional development
The Role in More Detail
You will design and deliver Art lessons across the age range, guiding students through media exploration, observational work, conceptual projects, and portfolio development. You’ll manage and support students through GCSE and A-Level coursework, helping them to refine and present their personal investigations.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues in Art and other creative subjects for exhibitions, displays, cross-curricular projects, gallery visits and community partnerships. There will also be opportunities to lead after-school clubs, run workshops, and contribute to whole-school art events and displays.
How to Apply
If you are an enthusiastic and imaginative Early Career Teacher looking to build your creative practice in a vibrant and ambitious school, we’d be delighted to hear from you. Please submit your CV. Early applications are encouraged as interviews may be scheduled before the closing date.
