We are looking to appoint a talented and experienced Clinical Educator to join our Learning & Development team supporting the professional development of clinical staff, including inpatient and community teams, with some crossover of interpersonal skills development for our non-clinical colleagues.
You will support the delivery of multi-disciplinary programmes, providing exceptional service by developing, implementing, and evaluating educational and developmental activities.

Job responsibilities
Care with Agility
* Participate in developing and reviewing policies and guidelines aligned with best practices.
* Engage in audit, clinical review, and research, encouraging staff participation and responding to learning needs identified from incidents.
* Maintain current knowledge in palliative and end-of-life care and clinical skills, informing education and training programs.
* Ensure learners understand their responsibilities in reporting concerns or changes in patient conditions.
* Support the Head of Education in gathering evidence, data, and statistics to monitor the effectiveness of education programs.
* Assist with processing applications for external education, grants, bursaries, and funding.
* Manage relationships with external training providers.
Supportive Culture
* Assist the Education Team in planning and delivering education, including clinical training and broader topics like communication skills and symptom management.
* Act as a role model, demonstrating clinical expertise and promoting best practices.
* Facilitate clinical competence demonstrations, ensuring assessments are current and recorded properly.
* Prepare and deliver classroom-based sessions and support clinical training with appropriate methods and technology.
* Contribute to mandatory and statutory training compliance reporting.
Extending reach
* Collaborate with external organizations to identify needs and deliver teaching programs.
* Support student placements and provide mentorship to staff and students.
* Represent Thames Hospice and the Education Team at meetings and forums.
Qualities and qualifications
* Registered Nurse with NMC, educated to degree level or equivalent.
* Willing to undertake or hold a qualification in palliative/end-of-life care.
* Completed or willing to undertake Advanced Communication Skills Training and facilitator’s course.
* Experience supporting learners, providing guidance, and delivering educational programs for diverse learners.
