About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Health Care Associate to join our Oncology Team at Hawkes Bay Hospital in a permanent part-time role. In this position, you will work alongside nurses and other health professionals to provide essential non-clinical patient care and support. Your day-to-day duties may include assisting patients with nutrition, as well as ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients receiving cancer treatment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting people during vulnerable times and wants to be part of a committed, high-functioning team.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our Oncology Service delivers outpatient and inpatient care to people undergoing treatment for cancer. You will join a compassionate, skilled, and supportive team that places patient dignity, safety, and wellbeing at the centre of everything we do. This role is based at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital, providing a dynamic and purpose-driven environment.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will:
* Have a Level 3 NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing or equivalent (or be working toward it).
* Be passionate about delivering compassionate, person-centred support.
* Be a strong communicator and team player with a proactive attitude.
* Demonstrate empathy, resilience, and professionalism in all interactions.
* Understand and support principles of cultural safety and equity, and demonstrate a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
