Job Overview
Due to the classification of this system, there is no opportunity for remote working and the support team work flexibly to maintain a constant presence during working hours. There are no out-of-hours SLA's associated with this system.
Responsibilities
* Management of the Azure DevOps infrastructure
* Plan, coordinate and execute changes and upgrades within the DevOps environment
* Implement automation and optimisation strategies to enhance platform performance
* Create/maintain documentation of the DevOps environment
* Provide first and second-line support for the DevOps platform
* Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, application & performance issues
* Escalate complex issues to third-line support or development teams.
* Work closely with other departments and users to resolve complex technical issues
* Continual service improvement to DevOps performance and operational efficiency
What You'll Need
* Azure DevOps environment and infrastructure
* Virtual and physical servers (Windows and Linux) and administration of VMware vSphere environment
Knowledge
* DevOps concepts and best practice
* Familiar with Active Directory
* Exposure to Windows and Linux monitoring tools
* Virtualisation technologies (e.g. VMware, Hyper‑V, Docker/Podman)
* Creation and/or administration of DevOps infrastructure
Skills
* Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills. Ability to collaborate effectively across application, infrastructure, and networking teams. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent)
Security Requirements
Any offer of employment will be strictly subject to the relevant security requirements for the role being met. This means that you will need to have, or be able to obtain, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance and possibly Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. The security clearance process may require non‑British nationals or dual nationals (i.e. those with British and another nationality) to be subject to additional evaluation, depending on nationalities held and the nature of the work to be carried out.
