Senior Buyer
Leeds
I am currently recruiting for a Senior Buyer to join a retailer based in Leeds. As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for buying and developing products across multiple categories. Managing your own budget, you will deliver commercially focused product ranges that meet both Departmental and Company quality targets, while maintaining a strategic business focus to ensure continued growth in the department.
As a Senior Buyer some of your duties will include;
* Building & maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
* Identify, develop & source products & ranges that achieve both brand quality standards and commercial targets
* Sourcing suppliers, negotiating terms and achieving best cost prices to improve margins
* Analysing sales figures to plan successful future lines
* Ensuring selected product lines achieve availability timeframes
* Working closely with internal departments to maintain quality levels within products
* Presenting reports, figures and trend information to the Senior Management team
* Dealing and resolving escalated supplier queries
* Mentoring junior members of the Buying team to ensure they fulfil their individual career potential
Key requirements for the role;
* Proven previous experience as an Experienced Buyer/Senior Buyer within the fashion retail market.
* Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels
* Able to adapt swiftly in a fast paced, ever changing retail market.
* Excellent numerical ability, with an analytical mindset
