Charge Nurse - Addiction (Mental Health)
Role summary and requirements for a Registered Nurse managing a defined caseload, delivering care, and supervising staff within a mental health and addictions service.
Role
Registered Nurse managing and delivering care to a defined caseload / group of clients / patients; responsible for applying the Nursing Process framework and using case management as appropriate to ensure a high standard of quality client / patient care. The charge nurse has delegated responsibility for the appraisal, management and clinical supervision of Registered Nurses, junior practitioners and clinical support workers within a defined clinical service, under the leadership of the team leader / senior charge nurse or practitioner.

What we'll need you to bring
* Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
* Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level.
* Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the breadth of knowledge to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
* Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the specialty / area of practice.
* Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures to deliver leadership within the specialty / area of practice.
* Leadership skills to enable day to day management of service delivery.
* Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of specialty, including study days/courses/post graduate qualification.
* Excellent team-working/leadership skills with the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative.
* Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Effective time management skills.
* Working knowledge of basic information technology.
* A full, valid UK/EU/EEA drivers licence.
Contract type
Permanent; Part Time – 20 hours per week. Please note this is a part-time post and the salary will be pro-rata.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Prisoner Healthcare within HMP Shotts. The working pattern for this role is 5 days over 7 days.
