As the District Forest and Fire Planning Officer, you will work within a team of planning experts to develop and design tactical plans for the delivery of forest and fire management works. These include Burn Plans, Site Plans and Works Orders, to meet all required standards and deliver on set objectives.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
* An appropriate qualification in science, natural resource management or approved equivalent.
* Demonstrated experience in natural resource management with suitable knowledge of planning associated with fuel management and forest management, preparation, and delivery processes.
* Experience in working with communities and key stakeholders preferably in a forest and fire management context.
* Experience or knowledge of FFMVic Fuel Management system including geographic information systems (GIS), Fuel Management System (FMS), burn planning and risk assessment processes.
* A broad knowledge and/or relevant experience in the planning and delivery of fuel, road, track, recreation and environmental asset maintenance and improvement programs is desirable.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is Horsham, with hybrid work arrangements available.
