We are looking to recruit a Senior Social Worker to work within the First Contact Adult Social Care and All Age Carers Team.
This key role will take responsibility for working across Older People, Physical and Learning Disabilities, Hospital Discharge referrals via Home First, and all age Carers assessments. We are seeking experienced Advanced Practitioners with a broad range of knowledge and skills across this agenda.

Main Responsibilities
You will:
1. Supervise and support the professional development of social workers and social care assessors.
2. Manage unpredictable daily changes to work patterns.
3. Organise daily duties using initiative while adhering to SCC policies and procedures to meet service demands.
4. Ensure the quality assurance of statutory documents and promote the ethos of “Just enough Support”.
5. Contribute to the development of best practices within the service.
6. Promote flexibility and manage a healthy work-life balance.
7. Motivate staff to deliver objectives around adult engagement successfully.
8. Identify and support the management of safeguarding issues promptly, in line with policy, procedure, and legislative guidance.
9. Work alongside less experienced or non-social work qualified team members, sharing and developing their learning.
10. Take responsibility for providing assessments under the Care Act, including statutory functions, and participate in inter-agency rotas for best interest assessments and AMHP duties.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have:
* Experience of working within Adult Social Care.
* Knowledge and experience of applying the Mental Capacity Act assessments, Best Interest Assessments/DOLs.
* Knowledge of mental health legislation, including section 117.
* Understanding of the principles of different funding streams supporting adults.
* Experience of team working and developing colleagues' professional practice.
You must be flexible to work at various locations across the service and be available for out-of-hours, evening, and weekend work when required.
