SYR are once again partnered with a leading maritime innovator based in The Solent as they look to grow their team with the hiring of a composites structural engineer, tasked with working across a host of high technology projects and conceptualising a host of exciting projects.

With a host of challenging exciting customer projects ongoing they seek the skills and experience in high level composites to complete customer projects.
Reporting into the Engineering Director this key role includes the following duties:
- The design and engineering of a host of composite structures for maritime applications
- Design mainly in carbon fibre for high performing maritime craft that are required to withstand high stress environments
- Selection and investigation into a range of composite manufacturing techniques in GRP, Carbon Fibre and Kevlar
- Acting as the composites engineering expert both internally and externally, providing detailed reports to a variety of stakeholders
- Carrying out FE Analysis and reporting accordingly
- Ensuring that designs meet the needs of a range of maritime regualtions and classifications
In a candidate we're seeking someone with exceptional knowledge either as a naval architect of composite structural engineer. You'll be well experienced with modern composites and also innovative products and techniques, capable of using your expertise select suitable produts and design them into customer projects. You'll exhibit excellent CAD skills and expertise with FE tools.
Whilst experience in the maritime field is preferred we would also consider applicants from high performing sectors such as automotive, motorsport or aersopace
