Job Description Permanent Role | 32–40 Hours per Week We are seeking a skilled and motivated Clinical Administrator / GP Assistant to join our expanding team in East London. This is a key role designed to increase capacity within our established administrative team of seven. We are looking for someone who can work a minimum of 4 days per week (32 hours), with the option of 5 days / 40 hours for the right candidate. You must be available to work until 6:30pm each day. About the Role As a Clinical Administrator / GP Assistant, you will play a vital part in supporting the clinical and administrative workflow of the practice. This includes handling clinical documents, processing lab results, managing prescription queries, and assisting with the triaging of appointment requests. The role is essential to ensuring the smooth running of patient care and supporting the clinical team. Due to the complexity and responsibility of the role, we require applicants who can step in with minimal training. Working Hours Minimum: 4 days / 32 hours per week Maximum: 5 days / 40 hours per week Must be able to work until 18:30 daily Specific days can be agreed based on practice needs. Key Responsibilities Processing clinical documents, hospital letters, and incoming correspondence Reviewing and actioning lab results and reports Supporting prescription management and medication queries Assisting clinicians with triage of appointment requests Updating patient records accurately using the clinical system Liaising with patients, pharmacists, hospitals, and external healthcare providers Providing general administrative support to the clinical and management team Requirements Essential: Previous experience working in a GP Practice OR a GP Assistant / Administrator with a Medical, Healthcare or Medical Science background Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical processes Ability to manage clinical documentation safely and accurately Excellent communication skills and attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision Confident using IT systems, ideally including EMIS Web (or similar) Desirable: Experience in document workflow / results management Familiarity with NHS processes and primary care operations
