We're looking for a hands:on chef who thrives in a fast:paced environment, brings strong commercial awareness, and understands that success in the kitchen isn't just about great food - it's about smart management too.
What You'll Be Doing
- Running day:to:day kitchen operations: managing prep schedules, rotas, and team performance.
- Supporting the Head Chef in driving standards, consistency, and team morale.
- Playing a key role in menu planning and dish development - keeping things seasonal, fresh, and profitable.
- Managing kitchen financials: controlling GP, monitoring budgets, reducing waste, and forecasting labour.
- Negotiating with suppliers to get the best ingredients at the best value.
- Maintaining full compliance with food hygiene and health and safety standards.
- Training, mentoring, and developing junior chefs.
- Taking charge during busy service - especially on weekends.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Senior Sous Chef or strong Sous Chef in a fresh:food, high:volume kitchen.
- Confident with the financial side of kitchen management - dish costing, rota planning, stock control, and forecasting.
- A natural leader who motivates and leads by example.
- A passion for honest, high:quality cooking using fresh, local produce.
- Flexible and calm under pressure, especially during peak service.
