About The Job
The IB is undergoing an exciting transformation, guided by a new digital and education vision for its ecosystem. This role will help redefine how the IB co-creates innovative solutions for future learners, educators, and the wider education community.
As an embedded member of our UX Team reporting to the Head of UX, you'll collaborate closely with the Education Innovation department—focused on long-term, disruptive ideas and creative approaches to design, prototype, and test new concepts.
Our team is passionate about understanding user needs and improving processes to unlock technology capabilities and deliver meaningful efficiencies. By centralising and standardising UX across IB offices, we ensure consistency and excellence in user experience design.
Responsibilities
Plan and facilitate co-creation sessions and workshops with colleagues and external stakeholders using design-thinking approaches
Design and deliver simple, accessible and scalable experiences for our students, teachers and schools
Lead UX research and analysis, gathering and applying user insights to inform design decisions.
Promote innovation by tracking industry trends and advocating best practices in UX and service design.
Champion accessibility and inclusivity, ensuring products serve diverse users globally.
Communicate design concepts clearly, producing wireframes, prototypes, and service blueprints to visualize processes and support stakeholder engagement.
Collaborate cross-functionally with business owners, product managers, and engineering teams to drive user- centered solutions and process improvements.
Organize and facilitate design reviews and workshops, incorporating stakeholder feedback to refine and enhance user experiences.
Foster a collaborative team culture, sharing knowledge and contributing to the departmental strategy and digital transformation at IB.
Qualifications
Cultural awareness, respect, and a global perspective
Strong IT and data skills
Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication abilities
High proficiency in written and spoken English
Experience in UX and UI design, prototyping, and using tools like Figma
Experience with workshop design and facilitation
Cross-functional collaboration with diverse teams
Basic understanding of the edtech landscape
Experience with SaaS and consumer products (desirable)
Knowledge of software development processes and Agile methodologies (Scrum preferred)
Competence in problem-solving, empathy, and stakeholder engagement
Confidence in decision-making and team motivation
Passion for technology and digital product creation
Salesforce or CRM experience, IB knowledge, and proficiency in Spanish and/or French are desirable but not required
