We wish to appoint a Specialty Doctor in Respiratory Medicine to a new post. The post-holder will work primarily with the Respiratory team at St Richard's Hospital. Responsibilities include undertaking routine work on the respiratory ward supporting junior staff under the supervision of Consultant respiratory physicians. Additionally, the role involves regular outpatient clinics to support increasing demand, including specialty respiratory clinics supervised by a Respiratory Consultant, with a mixture of new and follow-up patients, providing opportunities to develop specialty skills. There are also 1-2 pleural lists per week, supervised by the post-holder.
This position is suitable for a junior doctor aiming to maintain or develop subspecialty expertise and offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience prior to applying for higher specialty training. The post will be employed on the Specialty Doctor terms and conditions. The post-holder will also plan and interpret investigations, manage results, and handle clinic administration.

This role offers the chance to develop clinical skills, leadership, and communication, with a focus on improving patient care and continuity. The on-call commitment is to be discussed, with participation in the registrar full-shift rota pattern (up to 50% on call).
