What you'll be doing
You'll join a cross‑functional engineering team supporting high‑speed production lines in a 24/7 environment. It's a hands‑on, multi‑skilled maintenance role where you'll be trusted to diagnose, repair, and improve — and work closely with operations to drive efficiency.
* Responding to breakdowns and completing planned preventive maintenance
* Supporting continuous improvement and reliability projects
* Monitoring line performance and identifying root causes of issues
* Working on electrical, mechanical, and process systems
* Maintaining records via CMMS (Shire) and supporting with compliance and safety
What we're looking for
You're a qualified engineer (electrical or mechanical) who's worked in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. You know how to fault‑find, fix, and suggest improvements — and you take pride in working safely, accurately, and with minimal supervision.
Required
* NVQ Level 3, ONC or BTEC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
* Previous experience in a multi‑skilled engineering or maintenance role
* Practical understanding of safety systems and production processes
* Ability to use Microsoft Office and mobile reporting systems
* Strong communication, ownership and fault‑finding skills
Desirable
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
* Experience with boilers, compressed air, or HVAC systems
* Familiarity with CMMS systems (Shire ideal but not essential)
Location & Hours
This is a full‑time, permanent role based at a large‑scale manufacturing site in Middlewich, Cheshire.
Shifts are 4 on, 4 off (rotating days and nights, 6am‑6pm / 6pm‑6am).
