Role Overview
As an Assistant Consultant in the EIA team, you will support the management and delivery of environmental consultancy services to a diverse client base. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the coordination and technical input into EIAs, and undertaking broader environmental management tasks for various projects.
* Assist project managers in coordinating site selection reports for offshore wind farms, communicating with technical specialists to develop mitigation measures.
* Implement the latest approaches to digital EIA.
* Coordinate land access for EIA surveys, such as archaeological investigations.
* Contribute to stakeholder engagement strategies.
* Assist in finalizing Environmental Statements for submission.
You will be part of a dynamic, enthusiastic, and supportive EIA team, gaining experience in a challenging yet rewarding environment with highly experienced practitioners dedicated to your personal development.
Candidate Profile
* A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant environmental discipline with emphasis on EIA and/or SEA.
* Relevant postgraduate experience in a similar UK-based role or in a jurisdiction with comparable environmental planning systems.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with high computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Office.
* Understanding of health and safety standards.
* Interest or experience in environmental surveys (ecology, noise, air quality).
* Willingness to travel across the UK and internationally if needed.
* Knowledge of UK environmental and planning legislation, especially EIA-related laws.
* Postgraduate qualification in environmental science, planning, or related field.
* Practical knowledge of technical disciplines involved in EIA.
* Membership of IEMA or similar professional body.
