Role Overview
They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can manage projects independently and contribute effectively from day one. Projects typically range in value from £100k to £10m and are primarily located across the North West, with occasional projects in the South.
The role is predominantly office-based, with regular site visits as required.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all commercial aspects of projects from pre-contract through to final account
* Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flows
* Monitor project progress, valuations, variations, and change control
* Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and commercial procedures
* Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including valuations and final accounts
* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams
* Identify and implement value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
* Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management
* Ensure adherence to company quality, health & safety, and commercial standards
Candidate Requirements
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
* Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement routes
* Ability to manage multiple projects and work autonomously
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
* Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
* Willingness to attend site visits as required
* Full UK driving licence
