A law firm in Norwich are looking for a litigation locum to help out from March 2025 for a period of around 6 months. This is a full-time role and while hybrid working is available, you will need to be based at the firm's offices at least 3 days per week. You will need to be able to handle the following types of work for this role:

Landlord and tenant which currently includes the following:

·Residential Lease extensions, including work before the First Tier Tribunal
·Commercial Lease renewals
·Forfeiture of Commercial Leases
·Recovery of unpaid commercial rent
·Residential Lease possession actions, including recovery of rent
·Residential rent increases and service charge disputes
·Dilapidations
·Residential Lease fitness for human habitation claims
·Drafting Assured Shorthold Tenancies and Common Law Tenancies including advising on landlord obligations

Claims relating to freehold land which currently includes the following:

·Boundary disputes both in the residential setting and agricultural land settings
·Enforcement of restrictive covenants
·Adverse possession actions
·Nuisance and trespass
·Proprietary estoppel
·Claims on contracts for sale/purchase of land, in particular to answer queries/questions from the firm's conveyancing team
·Cohabitee claims under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act to include
·Determining shares and ordering sale of property

Contentious Probate matters to include:

·Applications to Court to have Executors removed
·Applications to Court to have Caveats removed
·Challenges to validity of Wills
·Claims pursuant to Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act

Commercial matters which currently includes the following:

·Breach of contracts (consumer to business and business to business)
·Misrepresentation on contracts
·Debt recovery including County Court claims and enforcing Judgments
·Disputes over shareholder and partnership disputes
·Winding Up proceedings at the High Court

Employment Law:

·Advice to businesses regarding employment status, disciplinary matters, Unfair Dismissal, redundancies, TUPE advice, harassment, discrimination including maternity rights, and drafting Contracts and Policy Handbooks
·Drafting and advising upon Settlement Agreements

While you will ideally be able to handle all of the above, the firm will consider candidates without employment experience.
