Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a secondary school in Wellingborough seeking to appoint a dedicated Design Technology Teacher for an April or September 2026 start. This is a full-time opportunity offered on a long-term supply basis, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.
The Role:
* Deliver engaging and practical Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
* Teach within your DT specialism, such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, or Graphics
* Encourage students to develop creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical understanding
* Maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating workshop or classroom environment
* Support students in completing design projects from concept through to final product
* Work collaboratively with the DT department to support curriculum planning and enrichment activities
About You:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
* Experience teaching Design Technology within a UK secondary school setting
* Strong knowledge in at least one DT specialism
* Confident classroom practitioner with effective behaviour management skills
* Passionate about practical learning and inspiring students to explore design and innovation
