Radiology Physics provides specialist clinical and non-clinical scientific and technical services in diagnostic radiology physics and ionising radiation protection for patients, staff, and the public to the Trust and healthcare organisations throughout the region.
Applications are invited for this full-time post in Radiology Physics. Suitable candidates will preferably have attained HCPC registration; however, those close to achieving state registration may be considered for a lower grade initially.
A trainee candidate will be considered if a suitable Band 7 candidate is not appointed. Trainees will be paid at 60% of Band 7 salary (Annex 21) until competencies are achieved, which is expected to take up to 4 years.
A full UK driving license is essential; international licenses are not accepted.
The successful candidate will join a team of Clinical Scientists and Technicians led by a Consultant Clinical Scientist. Responsibilities include participation in the diagnostic x-ray quality assurance programme, support for radiation protection across x-ray, nuclear medicine, and external beam radiotherapy, teaching, patient dose measurement, protection surveys, and research. Experience in mammography is advantageous.
