Location: Sleaford, Lincolnshire

Start date: January 2026

Contract: January 2026 – July 2026 (part-time, mornings only 5 days per week)

Salary: £90-£105 per day (depending on experience, role and/or qualifications).

About the role

Heart of Supply is seeking a versatile and proactive Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school from January to July 2026, working mornings and covering the lunchtime period.

As a classroom Teaching Assistant, you’ll provide classroom support under the direction of the class teacher, helping pupils to engage in learning activities and assisting with small group or one-to-one work. You’ll also play an active role in supporting positive behaviour and maintaining a happy, inclusive environment throughout the morning sessions and lunchtime.

Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in primary classrooms is essential. Experience with behaviour management and de-escalation techniques would be a real advantage, along with a calm, patient approach and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with both pupils and staff.

About the school

This is a warm, inclusive primary school that is ambitious for every child and works hard to bring out the very best in each member of its school community. Every pupil is cared for, feels safe, and is nurtured to grow in confidence and express themselves fully. The school has a strong commitment to working closely with families and the wider community to provide the best possible education. The curriculum is exciting, enriching and designed to ignite a genuine passion for learning with pupils encouraged to explore their interests both within the classroom and beyond.

What you will need:

* Previous experience supporting children in a primary classroom or similar learning environment

* A calm, compassionate approach and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils

* Confidence supporting learning and development under the direction of the class teacher

* Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to use positive reinforcement strategies to encourage engagement and good choices

* Flexibility to adapt to the needs of different pupils and routines across the school day

* Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude

* A relevant qualification (such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential for experienced candidates

What we offer you:

* Competitive weekly PAYE pay

* Roles tailored to your lifestyle - day-to-day or longer term

* Access to exclusive opportunities in great local schools

* A friendly, experienced consultant who listens

* Free CPD and ongoing professional development

* A simple ‘Refer a Friend’ scheme

* Up to £375 Welcome Bonus, paid as you hit key milestones

* A warm, supportive agency that genuinely cares about you and your journey

We’re fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All applicants will undergo thorough vetting, including enhanced DBS (with children’s barred list check and Update Service registration), references, and online checks as part of our compliance process.
