Our client is a well-established machine shop, specialising in precision metalwork and CNC manufacturing. They are seeking a motivated and reliable CNC Setter Operator to join their workshop team. This is a hands-on role where you will support day-to-day CNC production, with opportunities to learn and develop new skills.
The Role
Reporting to the workshop supervisor, the CNC Setter Operator will set up, operate, and support CNC machines across multiple areas of the workshop. While prior experience is helpful, full training will be provided for the right candidate. You will be expected to work hard, take initiative, and contribute to maintaining high standards across the team.
Key responsibilities include:
Setting up and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality components.
Checking, packing, and preparing parts for dispatch.
Assisting with the preparation of metal components for finishing processes, including powder coating.
Operating hand tools to achieve the desired finish on components.
Providing general support across other areas of the workshop as required.
Maintaining a high standard of quality and attention to detail in all work.
Candidate Requirements
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
Interest in CNC manufacturing, metals, or engineering environments.
Keen eye for detail and commitment to a high standard of finish.
Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to good timekeeping and attendance.
Flexible approach to overtime where required.
Motivation to learn, develop new skills, and grow within the business.
Previous CNC experience is desirable but not essential. Experience in a dispatch or manufacturing environment is also beneficial.
The Package
£26,000 – £30,000 per annum, depending on experience
