We’re looking for an MIS Manager to join our dedicated team at Walsall College. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the College’s student records, funding, ILR returns, compliance, and audit operations - ensuring our data is accurate, timely, and fully compliant with regulatory requirements.
You’ll provide operational leadership to our MIS, compliance and planning teams, acting as the College’s technical expert for ESFA, WMCA and OfS funding. Working closely with curriculum and business support areas, you’ll champion data best practice, lead on funding submissions, audits and HE returns, and play a key role in curriculum planning, timetabling, bursary administration, and enrolment operations.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, detail-focused professional with line management experience and an understanding of MIS processes in further education.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading the submission of accurate and timely ILR returns, HE returns and internal funding claims.
* Managing student records, timetabling, bursary processes and enrolment operations.
* Providing expert advice on funding changes and their operational impact.
* Developing and maintaining internal audit processes and data quality controls.
* Managing MIS-related audits and compliance activities.
* Supporting strategic and operational decision-making through high-quality management information.
About you:
You’ll have:
* Proven experience managing funding, student records and MIS operations within FE.
* A strong understanding of ESFA/WMCA/OfS funding methodologies and audit requirements.
* Excellent data analysis, reporting and problem-solving skills.
* Experience of leading and developing teams in a data-driven environment.
* Outstanding attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
A relevant Level 4 qualification (or equivalent experience) is essential, as is a genuine passion for the role MIS plays in supporting student success and organisational performance.
