Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant to support individuals with disabilities. This role involves working closely with children, providing guidance, encouragement, and assistance in their daily activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education or related fields, along with excellent communication skills to foster positive interactions.
Responsibilities
* Assist individuals with disabilities in daily living activities, promoting independence and self-sufficiency.
* Implement teaching strategies tailored to the unique needs of each individual, ensuring an engaging learning environment.
* Provide support in educational settings, reinforcing lessons and helping with homework or skill development.
* Collaborate with educators and caregivers to develop personalised learning plans and track progress.
* Engage in toddler care when necessary, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for younger children.
* Maintain clear communication with families regarding the progress and needs of the individuals being supported.
* Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to special education and working with individuals with disabilities.
Requirements
* Experience working with children disabilities is essential.
* Background in teaching or special education is highly desirable.
* Previous experience with children, particularly in educational or care settings, is preferred.
* Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and team members.
* Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding towards individuals' unique challenges.
