Gloucestershire Managed Services (GMS) is seeking reliable and motivated Domestic Assistants to join our team. This role is based primarily at Cheltenham; however, in exceptional circumstances, such as staffing shortages or site issues, you may be asked to provide cover at other GMS sites. As a Domestic assistant, you'll play a key role in helping us maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment, supporting patient well-being, infection prevention, and high standards of service.
We have the following Shifts available:
Monday to Friday
3 x 8am - 3pm = 32.5 hours per week
1 x 8am - 3.30pm = 35 hours per week
1 x 12pm - 7.30pm = 35 hours per week
2 x 5pm - 9pm = 20 hours per week

* Carry out cleaning duties in wards, clinics, offices, and public areas following organisational and industry standards.
* Provide ward-level food and beverage services, including preparing drinks, distributing snacks, and supporting patient hydration.
* Maintain accurate records of cleaning and food service activities.
* Use cleaning equipment safely and maintain cupboards and supplies.
* Dispose of waste safely and report hazards or issues.
* Respect patient privacy and dignity at all times.

£16.88 authorised overtime rate (paid after 37.5 hours)
Saturdays £17.89 per hour
Sundays and Public Holidays £23.22 per hour
Weekdays between 8pm and 6am £17.89 per hour
* Annual leave 24 days plus 8 bank holidays (pro rata for part-time staff), increasing with service, plus one paid volunteering day.

The Domestic Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment across hospital sites. This includes carrying out routine and specialist cleaning in clinical and non-clinical areas, providing ward level food and beverage services, and accurately recording cleaning and housekeeping activities. The role requires adherence to infection prevention procedures, safe use of cleaning equipment and materials and safe disposal of waste, and respect for patient privacy and dignity. The post holder will work independently and as part of a team, support colleagues during high demand period and contribute to maintaining high standards of service at all times.
