An Ofsted Outstanding specialist day centre is looking for a positive and dedicated specialist Support Worker to work with students with special educational needs. This centre prides itself on offering all pupils INCLUSION, INDEPENDENCE AND SELF WORTH. The students in attendance at this school come from across the county, the centre currently supports 40+ pupils but has plans for expansion in the next 2 years due to demand. This centre supports young people and adults with severe and profound needs including but not limited to Physical needs, communication difficulties and Autism.
This centre supports young people and adults from 19+ years. This is an incredibly modern site with exceptional facilities. As a SW you will support the learners with their academic, behavioural, therapeutic, and vocational needs to ensure every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment. You will join an engaging and helpful team and support learners on a 1:1, small group and whole class basis. This is a full time, permanent position based on approx 40 hours a week and is a year round opportunity. As this is a day centre there is no shift work or nights. The working day is 9-5pm Monday-Friday.

Your responsibilities will include:
10. Providing assistance defined according to weekly/daily/seasonal planning of the teacher and therapeutic team
11. Working 1:1 with students/learners
12. Providing group and/or individual activities
13. Supporting the general well being of learners within the structure of the site
14. Supporting all learners in their planned structured work in all curriculum areas and also with life skills
Key skills and experience needed:
15. The ability to work with learners that have various SEN/learning difficulties
16. A willingness to learn and build relationships with learners
17. Confidence to support the lead in groups, in different activities
18. Flexibility in their approach
19. Teaching Assistant and/or child care or adult care experience
20. GSCE Maths and English or equivalent - desirable
