Engineering Consultant - Chartered Engineer (High-Impact, Hands-On Role)
Rate: £650 - £750 per day
Duration: 12 - 8-week consulting period (extension possible depending on permanent recruitment)
Our client is seeking a chartered engineering consultant to lead a critical, high-impact project across their engineering function. This is a heavy-hitting assignment, requiring a proven track record in food manufacturing and other complex environments, with the ability to analyse business operations and provide the board with a full, transparent overview of where the company stands.
Key Responsibilities:
·Conduct a comprehensive assessment of all assets - their current state, history, and what actions are required moving forward.
·Review the engineering team both individually and collectively to understand capability and performance.
·Deliver a warts-and-all assessment of the engineering function, its current trajectory, and future requirements.
·Develop and outline communication lines and processes to strengthen departmental effectiveness.
·Provide actionable recommendations to the board based on findings.
Requirements:
·Chartered Engineer with demonstrable experience in senior consulting or leadership roles.
·Proven track record within food manufacturing at a senior level.
·Strong analytical skills and ability to provide concise, board-level reporting.
·Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
·Available to commit to an 8-week assignment, with potential for extension through February.
