We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Denbighshire to assist with the appointment of a Placement Officer, on a 2.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration., The Working Denbighshire Placement Officer will provide flexible, high-quality, employment-focused support to individuals aged 16 and over who are eligible for the Working Denbighshire service. The role focuses on supporting participants during work placements through a person-centred, strengths-based approach, helping them overcome barriers to employment and progress towards sustainable work, ultimately contributing to tackling poverty across Denbighshire.
* Provide 1-to-1 mentoring, coaching and employment-focused support to an allocated caseload of participants during their work placements
* Ensure placements are meaningful and enhance participants long-term employability and chances of sustained employment
* Support participants to identify strengths, develop skills, set outcome-focused goals and take responsibility for their own progression
* Assist with CV development, interview preparation, job search skills and long-term employability skills
* Carry out strengths-based assessments, action plans, formal reviews and progress monitoring using approved systems
* Identify risks and complete risk assessments and risk management plans in line with safeguarding and lone-working procedures
A relevant qualification (e.g. Diploma in Youth and Community work/ employment/social work/community development/mentoring or coaching) or substantial relevant experience in mentoring people from vulnerable communities and support them to overcome barriers., Experience of providing mentoring and employment-focused support to individuals facing poverty and barriers to employment
* Experience working with hard-to-reach individuals with complex needs
* Experience of strengths-based assessment, action planning and reviewing progress
* Experience of joint working with statutory, voluntary and private sector organisations
* Understanding of welfare, employment and benefits issues and their impact on individuals
