SEMH Teaching Assistant
Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Barking to recruit a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant.

The Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support students who require additional emotional and behavioural support to access learning. You will play a key role in helping students build resilience, regulate their emotions, and engage positively with school life.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs
2. Support the implementation of behaviour and intervention plans
3. Encourage positive behaviour and emotional development
4. Assist students in and out of the classroom setting
5. Work closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and pastoral teams
6. Build strong, consistent, and supportive relationships with students
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
7. Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs
8. Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
9. A calm, patient, and resilient approach
10. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
11. A genuine passion for supporting young people
12. Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential)
