Mechanical Fitter & Stores Operative
Job Location: Poole, Dorset
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: up to £14.48 per hour / up to £28,250 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 7.30am – 4.00pm & Friday 7.30am – 1.00pm

A well-known Engineering company based in Poole that builds interesting mechanical products used within mechanical propulsion is recruiting for 2 additional staff to work within a dual role across the Mechanical Fitting & Stores department.
You will be supporting both departments to ensure that customer jobs are built and despatched on time.
Responsibilities
Stores
* Receiving goods and parts, checking them against orders
* Kitting of parts for the production
* Picking and checking orders are correct ready for dispatch
* Keeping the computer system updated of all stock movements in and out
Mechanical fitting
* Working from drawings, build specifications and spec sheets to assemble components to tight tolerances
* Using presses to fit and remove bearings
* Undertake inspection of finished builds and repair/replace any defects in assemblies
The Successful Applicant Will Be
* Previous experience within Mechanics, Mechanical Fitting, Mechanical Assembly or general engineering undertaking mechanical fitting is essential
* Experience of working in a stores / warehouse function
* Good working knowledge of engineering practices and using tools including torque wrenches
* Ability to pick new things up quickly
* Be willing to learn and have a 'can do attitude'
* Knowledge of working to drawings and work instructions
* PC literate experience of using MRP / ERP systems
