Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people in the criminal justice system? We’re looking for an experienced and dedicated Youth Justice Officer to join our Blackpool team, supporting children and young people through the court process and beyond.
About the Role
In this pivotal role, you will:

Advocate for and support children appearing in court, ensuring their voices are heard.

Provide guidance and emotional support, using a trauma-informed approach.
*
Work closely with legal professionals, social workers, and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes.
*
Help deliver the Youth Justice Plan for Blackpool, aimed at protecting the public, reducing reoffending, and safeguarding young people.
*
Contribute to improving outcomes and performance against local and national indicators.
What We’re Looking For

Strong background in youth justice and supporting young people in or at risk of entering the criminal justice system.
*
Experience of advocacy within court or legal settings.
*
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
*
A collaborative approach with the ability to work across agencies.
*
Resilience, empathy, and commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable young people.
Working Arrangements
*
Hybrid working: In-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and one additional day agreed in advance via the duty rota.
*
Active participation in youth court duties as part of your weekly schedule.
