Carpenter's Nursery & Farm Shop has been family-run in St Albans for over 100 years. With our roots firmly in horticulture, we grow a wide range of seasonal vegetables and plants on site, and stock everything from bedding plants, shrubs, compost and tools to artisan food, drink and unique gifts.

This is not your average retail role. As part of our Goods In team, you'll play a vital role in keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. From checking off deliveries and managing stock levels to helping keep the warehouse safe, organised and tidy, you'll ensure our shop floor and plant areas are always well supplied and ready for our customers.
You'll be part of a small, supportive team where hard work, attention to detail and pride in what you do really matter.
What you'll be doing
* Receiving and checking off deliveries against delivery notes.
* Unloading goods safely and carrying out manual handling tasks.
* Ensuring stock is rotated, labelled and stored correctly in the warehouse.
* Keeping the warehouse and storage areas clean, safe and well organised.
* Supporting with ordering, stock control and stock takes.
* Moving stock to the shop floor and plant areas, ensuring shelves and displays remain replenished.
* Assisting colleagues with merchandising and customer service as required.
About you
* You have experience in a retail, horticultural, warehouse or stock control role (garden centre or farm shop experience a bonus).
* You're reliable, organised and take pride in keeping things tidy and running smoothly.
* You're confident with manual handling and happy with physical, hands-on work.
* You're comfortable working with delivery paperwork, stock systems and EPOS.
* You're a team player with good communication skills.
* A forklift licence or similar would be an advantage, though not essential.
