About the Role
As Senior Ecology Project Manager, you'll take the lead on delivering ecology projects across a variety of sectors. You'll manage timelines, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project outcomes-working collaboratively with ecologists, technical specialists, and clients to deliver high-quality, environmentally sound results.
This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who thrives on problem-solving, collaboration, and taking projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage the delivery of complex ecology projects with a focus on quality, timing, and budget.
2. Prepare fee proposals and quotations for new opportunities.
3. Coordinate interdisciplinary teams and manage subcontractors as required.
4. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and ensuring project alignment.
5. Track and manage project budgets and timelines efficiently.
6. Integrate specialist ecological input into planning and reporting.
7. Mentor junior team members and contribute to improving internal processes.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
8. Minimum 7 years' experience in an environmental or planning consultancy setting.
9. Degree or master's in ecology, environmental science, or a related field.
10. Strong experience managing project delivery, budgets, and client relationships.
11. Proven ability to develop accurate fee proposals.
12. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
13. Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
14. Experience using project management software (e.g., WFM).
15. APM membership or a recognised project management qualification.
16. Experience with ArcGIS.
17. Background in biodiversity, renewables, or regulatory compliance projects.
