ADHD Nurse Prescriber – Salary: £55,000–£65,000
Role Summary
The ADHD Nurse Prescriber will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and supporting individuals with ADHD through both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. The role involves independent prescribing, medication management, ongoing reviews.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive ADHD assessments, deliver clear diagnostic feedback, and produce detailed clinical reports.
* Provide follow-up reviews for individuals with an ADHD diagnosis, offering patient-centred, holistic care.
* Initiate, titrate, and discontinue ADHD medications (stimulant and non-stimulant) as appropriate.
* Manage a caseload through the medication pathway, ensuring timely and compliant follow-up appointments.
* Generate and monitor prescriptions, ensuring safety, effectiveness, and alignment with clinical guidelines.
* Run medication management clinics, including physical health checks and ongoing monitoring.
* Work collaboratively with psychologists, speech therapists, and other professionals when differential diagnoses are present.
* Liaise effectively with GP practices and external services, including making appropriate referrals.
* Assess risk at every contact, identify safeguarding concerns, and escalate appropriately.
* Engage in ongoing professional development and remain up to date with ADHD research and best practice.
Requirements
* Qualified Mental Health Nurse with an independent non-medical prescribing qualification (V300).
* Registered with the NMC and compliant with professional revalidation requirements.
* Experience in ADHD assessment and treatment.
