At Royston Hospital, we have 7 operating theatres performing a wide range of diagnostic, interventional and surgical procedures. We cover Orthopaedics, General, Gynae, Urology, Endoscopy, Ophthalmology, Maxio-facial and Plastics. With a long-standing history of serving our community, we are proud to be the number one provider of private surgical services in Hawke’s Bay.
About the role
As a Theatre Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading the theatre teams to ensure the delivery of quality patient care, organise equipment and resources, and to obtain optimum efficiency and effectiveness on a day to day basis. You would be joining a well established and experienced theatre management team, who will support and mentor you. This is a new position for Royston theatres which is required due to us opening two new theatres recently.
You will:
1. Ensure a service that is consultant and patient focused, responsive, and renowned for quality.
2. Work closely with the Theatre Services Manager and Theatre Co-ordinator, assisting with staff allocation and delegation of daily tasks.
3. Actively support the Theatre Services Manager (TSM) to achieve the strategic goals of the company.
4. Make a significant contribution to the day to day management of the theatres and promote team work and collaboration.
This is a full-time position, four days per week, Monday to Friday, based at Royston Hospital, Hastings, Hawkes Bay. We are ideally interested in someone with leadership experience, but will consider someone who is wanting to take that next step up into clinical leadership. You will be supported by a wonderful team who want you to succeed.

About you
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, well-developed communication and time management skills, and a demonstrated commitment to the provision of quality services. You will also have the following:
5. Five years recent post-graduate experience in a theatre environment
6. Proven clinical experience and ability in the operating theatre
7. Team building, leadership and teaching skills
8. Sound clinical expertise in one or more specialities within theatre
9. Demonstrates a commitment to risk management and quality improvement
10. Current New Zealand Nursing Council annual practicing certificate
