Are you an experienced Team Leader within a Children's Home looking for an opportunity to step up into management? Would you like to learn from a proven Registered Manager (with a sense of humour)?

* Job Title: Deputy Children's Home Manager

* Home Type: 2 Bedded LD home – therapeutic PACE approach

* Location: Cradley Heath, B64

* Basic Salary: £35,000 - £37,000 p/a

* Potential to earn up to £43,600 with sleeps & bonuses

* Contract: Full time, sleep-ins may be required on occasion

* Split shift pattern: Mixture of 9-5s and 7:30 – 21:30 shifts

Who will you be working for?

Home to up to two young people aged 11-18, this recently renovated 2 Bedded LD Children's home is on the search for its brand new Deputy Manager. Having only opened within the last year, it is an exciting time to jump in and make a difference before their first inspection. The Registered Manager is incredibly experienced, having achieved “Good” outcomes with commendations from Ofsted previously. She is a funny, friendly manager with a genuinely caring demeanor.

This organisation operates two children’s homes across the West Midlands region, and have aspirations to expand – the successful candidate would be placed onto a pathway for development to become a future Registered Manager of an upcoming children’s home. They are a forward-thinking business with a clinical Doctor informing the therapeutic practice and online ClearCare based systems.

The Package & Benefits:

* Basic pay: £35,000 - £37,000 p/a, depending on experience and qualifications, plus £50 per sleep-in, if necessary, or preferred by the candidate

* Estimated package: Earn up to £40,600 per annum, based on 6 sleep-ins per month - however, you may choose not to complete so many if there are other staff that would like these sleep-ins

* Additional Bonus: Every staff member can receive up to £3000 per year in performance-based bonuses – because teamwork makes the difference.

What Will The Role Entail?

As a Deputy Children’s Home Manager, you will be the backbone of the staff team whilst on shift. You will pull from your experience working in children’s homes to manage and lead your passionate team to ensure smooth operation of the home and second-to-none delivery of care for young people.

The Successful Deputy Children’s Home Manager Candidate Will Excel At:

* Supporting the Registered Manager to operate the home to an excellent standard, adhering to Ofsted’s Children’s Home Act (2015), Quality Standards, and Safeguarding Procedures

* Managing a staff team, completing supervisions and appraisals, and ensuring trainings are completed in line with Quality Standards

* Developing and reviewing Ofsted required paperwork such as care plans, behaviour support plans, risk assessments, and regulated “Reg” reports & attending and engaging in LAC, EHCP, PEP and Pathway Planning meetings and reviews.

* Communicating effectively with young people, colleagues, families, and external professionals.

* Conducting administrative tasks such as health and safety checks, medication audits, rotas, finances, and taking part in recruitment activities and inductions

* On-call responsibilities; ensuring the home has your expert advice in out-of-hour crises

Requirements for the Deputy Children’s Home Manager role:

* 2+ years’ experience leading a team specifically within a children’s home environment

* Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

* Full UK Manual Driving Licence and access to a vehicle

* Flexibility to carry out the shift pattern described at the top of the advert, including sleep-ins and on-call responsibilities

* A genuine passion for supporting the well-being and healthy development of young people as well as your staff team
