Are you a care leader with experience working in a dementia care setting, with the passion to make a difference?
Can you lead a team of people to deliver outstanding care to our residents living with dementia, by delivering the highest quality care?
Our care teams make a real difference every day, and your professionalism, teamed with kindness and compassion, will be at the core of everything you do. Working collaboratively with the home management team, you will lead on and develop the provision of person-centred care for our residents living with dementia, meeting their needs in sometimes complex situations and during times of distress.
You will take responsibility for the operational management of the dementia households, ensuring colleagues are competent and confident working across all shifts by promoting best practice, providing guidance, and support.
You will work closely with our residents to support them in making decisions about their care and will collaborate with our Admiral Nurses, outside agencies, and residents’ families, carers, and friends to plan and implement care that promotes independence and wellbeing, ensuring residents continue to live fulfilled and meaningful lives.
Goodson Lodge is situated in the historic county town of Trowbridge. This purpose-built care home has been created with our residents in mind. The home provides 24-hour specialist person-centred dementia care, residential care, and respite care.
AND IN RETURN
As a Head of Dementia Care, you will work to the Trust's Head of Dementia Care Competency Framework and will receive ongoing professional development and monthly supervision from the Admiral Nurse, who will also work alongside you during regular support visits to the home.
The Trust is a great place to work; we’ve been providing care for almost 1 year, and we’re currently the second largest not-for-profit provider in the UK. Not-for-profit means that we reinvest every penny we make into our residents, colleagues, and the care homes we operate. We offer a range of benefits, including a competitive salary, training, and development.
Here are some benefits you’ll enjoy as a valued team member:
* 30 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)
* A Company pension
* Life assurance
* Free uniform
* Free DBS
* Access to our Employee Assistance Programme
* Blue Light Card and “My Rewards” programme, offering discounts on shopping, days out, restaurants, and more
ABOUT YOU
You’ll have a QCF Level 3 in Dementia Care or equivalent, along with, or willingness to work towards, a Level 3 Certificate in Team Leadership, and a proven track record of leading and managing a team in a dementia care setting.
You’ll be a positive role model, able to work autonomously and, at times, under pressure, with excellent communication and organizational skills, and a natural ability to get along with others. As a supportive leader, you’ll motivate your team to deliver the best possible care to our residents at all times.
